C-A-R-T-E-R's letters!

I have been brainstorming what I wanted to put above Carter's crib in his nursery for quite some time now. I've thought to wall decals, pictures, mirrors, and everything else you can imagine. It wasn't until this morning that I was pretty sure that I wanted his name in block letters to be there along with a few more surprises that I'll post later. So I took a trip to my local Michael's Craft Store because I loved the wooden letters that they carry there. I didn't want to just paint the letters though, I wanted some spice to them!! So I took some leftover fabric from his curtains and I picked up a bunch of matching scrapbook paper. I also picked up some Tacky Spray Glue.. Let me tell you, this stuff is AMAZING! It worked so well and didn't wrinkle the letters at all. I also wanted to give it a rustic look so I distressed the edges of each letter. And this is what I came out with..

What you'll need:

Tacky Spray Glue, Scrap Paper or Fabric, Sharp Scissors, Distress Ink, Wooden Letters, and an Idea (:

The letters actually started off white, but that comes no where close to matching the vintage design of them. I had to chose between painting the edges of them, or staining them. An honestly I took the easy way out.. Just a few swipes of the stain and it was dry almost instantly!

Here is the final product (:

I decided I needed something to match the letters that I can hang in his room. This is the beginning of my little scrap paper picture! I think I may glue this to wood as well just so it lasts longer!

Hope you all enjoyed my little post. I'll have lots more nursery decorations posted soon!
